Tailwalk Crimson S95ML-R

For anyone after a longer rod that isn't overgunned, the 95 is a bit more unusual than most. It carries the same rating as the 83 but stretched over an extra foot and a bit, so you get the reach without the extra power, and you keep the finesse and control that longer, stiffer rods normally cost you. It'll cover most general bass fishing. Where it earns its place is shallow water where you don't want a heavy lure but you do want the distance, or up on a mark where you're stood a bit above the water. It isn't too stiff, which is good for casting and for playing fish, but there's enough backbone for nearly any lure we'd use. If you're regularly in the surf and in rougher conditions then the 98 in this range is the one for that. And the grip on the Crimsons is lovely, nicely laid out with the rear section a good length. There's not a lot not to like.
