Tailwalk Hi-Tide SSD 90MH

The most powerful rod in the range, and at 9ft it's the one I'd pick when you want more poke from the shore without going to a ten-footer. There's plenty of distance in 9ft for most of what we do, and it has the extra to drive a big shad or a big metal into rough conditions. Nine feet also just makes it manageable. A heavy plastic on the end of a long heavy rod gets knackering, and this length keeps it workable while leaving the power there. Like the 83MH it gets the double-leg guides, so it's a more durable build. It isn't stiff or steely. You don't want a stiff powerful rod, because it'd be useless with a lighter lure, and this one isn't. I'd not want to go below about 20g most of the time, but from 20g up it does the lot, with the reserve for when the wind or the surf gets up. Plenty of people could run it as their only bass rod.
