The longest rod in the range. We don't sell loads of them purely because of the length, but everyone I know using one loves it. It's a bit unusual in that the rating didn't climb with the length. Longer lure rods almost always get more powerful, and this one holds the same casting weight as the nine-footers, so you keep a bit of finesse along with the extra reach. That still covers just about every lure you'd want for bass unless conditions go genuinely mad, and it's at its best with metals. The action isn't super fast, which is right for a rod this long. It bends easily and recovers quickly, and casting is what it's for. The reach earns its keep on rocky ground when you're stood well above the water, letting you keep the tip down, the lure in the water and the line out of the wind. In the surf it does the same job. For the money the whole SSD range has been brilliant, and this one is no different.
