It’s perhaps the most versatile in the range, and probably the most normal for a lot of people within bass fishing at least anyway. At 8'6", it’s just a really lovely length to fish in all kinds of areas and for all types of fish. It’s rated to 40g but feels like a much lighter rod than that. Physically they only weigh 100g, so this whole range is incredibly lightweight. They have that lovely elastic tip to them, and to me this is almost like the definition of the perfect rod for using weightless soft plastics and stuff like that. Naturally it’ll fish all types of lures, but it’s not necessarily going to be a rod to buy if you’re fishing lots of big surface lures. Anything up to a Patchinko 125 should be absolutely fine, but it’s going to excel mostly for people doing the majority of their fishing with soft plastic lures.

Light plugs will be really nice on this one as well. You’ve got loads of feeling through the tip, and with light surface lures it would outperform any stiffer-tipped rod. Patchinko 100s and stuff like that, it’s just an absolutely amazing rod for those sorts of things. What’s nice about this range as a whole, and obviously relevant to this rod as well, is that whilst they have a relatively light tip, they’ve got loads of power in the butt. It’s really quite deceiving, but it’s a really nice feature. Like I’ve said elsewhere, I love it when we get these rods where we can fish light lures on them but still have power when we need it as well.
