Specifications

About this rod

The longest of the three and the most niche of them. It's for anyone who wants distance without heavy lures: maximum projection, good line control, and still enough softness to cast something light. That's a specific combination and it isn't a rod for everybody. The line rating is where the limit really sits. It's rated to a light PE and that's real, because to make a rod this light and this nice to use they aren't using carbons built for hauling big bass off the open coast. Treat that rating as the limit rather than a suggestion and you'll have no trouble at all. In the estuaries, or anywhere you aren't fighting the ground, it's more than capable. Like the rest of the range it gets the longer grip, which suits casting a light lure a long way, and the action is softer and more forgiving than most, which pays when a fish takes on a straight retrieve.

About Tailwalk

I came across Tailwalk by accident at a European trade show back around 2015, and they've been with us ever since. Their rods suit the fishing we do in the UK, which a lot of Japanese brands don't quite manage. Plenty of them make lovely rods that just aren't right for how we fish over here. Tailwalk sit somewhere in the middle. Nothing too steely, nothing too soft. They're easy to cast, nice to fish, and the value has always been there.
