About this rod
This might be my favourite in the range. It reads as a very long rod at 9'9", and in the hand it simply does not feel it, which is the clever part. It is not built to be crisp and delicate for twitching a small lure around; it is built to cast, and it does that better than anything else I have put it up against in the shop.
Load it with a heavier lure and you will feel it bend right down into the butt, but being an Apia it recovers so quickly that you never lose the cast. The length earns its keep on rocky ground, where the extra reach helps you steer a fish away from trouble, and in surf, and on any day when the wind is against you. If you are after distance, or you want one rod for open coast work, have a proper look at this one.
