About this rod
Probably the nicest long rod I have ever handled. Apia have used a put-in joint here, and what it gives you is something that feels like a normal bass rod with another eighteen inches on the end, rather than the unwieldy thing a 10'6" usually turns out to be. There is lightness in the tip without it being soft, and then the power steps up through that joint and blends away into the butt, so it never feels like it stops bending.
It is rated to 56g, and like the Tailwalk Surflat SSD that rating is a little conservative for what the rod is - it is technically a flatfish rod, and the Japanese rate that style differently. It will throw a metal a long way in rough conditions or in surf, and it will still fish a 20g lure if you need it to. The S106M is the softer of the two Majestic Surfs.
