Polyester fishing lines, or "ester" as it can be known, is a material that has found popularity originally in Japan. The properties of polyester make it a heavy line. It sinks faster than fluorocarbon and has much less stretch than either fluorocarbon or monofilament. Working with a little more stiffness and memory means that we have a line that will maintain more direct contact with a slowly sinking jig head or small metal casting jig.
