Very smooth, very supple, very reliable, and another one that lives on a lot of my own reels. It helps enormously when a braid is this good, because I sell it face to face in the shop and I want people to enjoy using it as much as I do - and that is what comes back to us. The light green colour lasts a really long time, it is easy to tie, it is durable, and for what it costs it is just great value.
I don't talk about breaking strains all that often, because they are so inconsistent from one brand to the next. The PE rating is more often than not the easiest way to work out what you actually want.
0.6 PE is the finest spool we bring in on the Roots X8, and finer than where I would start for bass.
0.8 PE is where I would start for bass - light estuary work, or clean ground where you are not asking much of the line.
1.0 PE sits in the middle of the bass range, between the estuary end and the rough stuff.
1.2 PE is still very much a bass line, with a bit more in hand as the ground gets harder on it.
1.5 PE is the one for when things get really rough and gnarly.
