A spade-end hook — no eye, whipped straight to the line — with a short shank, a deep round bend and a point turned in. The wire is fine and left unforged, so it keeps some spring in it rather than being stiff through the bend.
The size span is the widest of any hook we list: 18 right up to 1, Japanese 2 to 12, fifteen to a card. The 18s and 16s are for single small baits on very light hooklengths; the 4s, 2s and 1s carry a proper mouthful. Nickel.
