Hayabusa H.BEK562 BN

The Beak, or octopus, pattern — a short shank bait hook with the point turned in towards the eye. That inward turn is the whole character of it: a bait sits neatly on a short shank, and the turned point finds a hold as the fish moves away rather than needing a hard strike.

Forged high carbon steel and chemically sharpened, in a black nickel finish. It is the general-purpose bait hook for sea fishing — baited for whatever is feeding, or pinned through a live or dead bait fish.

Hayabusa scale drawing: hook profile, European and Japanese size ladders, and how the hook is built
Hayabusa's own scale drawing for this pattern — the profile against a 1cm square, both size ladders, and how the hook is built.
