Tailwalk
B-Breamer SSD
One of our biggest success stories of 2025, the Tailwalk B-Breamer SSD series of roads is quite unique. They are designed with what you could call a relatively powerful middle and butt that combines with a short solid, extra fast tip. This solid tip design is there to give you maximum feel whilst working lures along the bottom. That said the crispness that the blank provides and the fact that the solid part is neither long or floppy (far from it), means that they’ll work with pretty much any type of lure you want to cast on them. But given the popularity of fishing for bass with creature baits this year, it’s with the B-Breamer rods that we have discovered the ultimate tool!
There are two roles in a 76ML and a 710M. The lighter of the despite its 16 gram operating is more than capable at handling most estuarine marks. The actual power in the butt slightly exceeds the stated numbers – which is a good thing. The 710 model takes that power to another level. If you’re fishing in heavy weed and need to drag a fish from its sanctuary that’s when you need the 710.
In fact the more I talk about this range the more I remember how much they are actually capable of outside of bass fishing too. Our team anglers have loved fishing with these rods both from the boat and from the shore especially for species like wrasse Were the sensitivity and power whilst working lures near the bottom really comes into his own. Given the fact that they were designed as niche rods it is amazing how they’ve actually one of the most versatile. Crazy really!
What do we think?
Ben SaysRod Blanks
As I’ve stated in the overall description these are very special rods with unique features. It’s the solid tip that makes them what they are but it’s that combined with the power in the bottom half of the tip section and butt that make it so unique. As anglers it provides I wrote that is both powerful and truly sensitive. As much as you hear it quoted absolutely everywhere it’s only when you see a rod like this that you can understand how inferior certain rods can be when trying to achieve both elements.
The 76ML actually has a slightly longer solid tip than the 710 – being spliced at the 3rd guide below the tip (4th guide down). The splice on the 710 is actually on the second guide below the tip (3rd guide) making it really quite short. However that’s exactly what you want on a rod like this. A solid tip that is too long becomes both less stiff and heavy. This stiff, solid tip ensures that maximum vibration is transmitted through the rest of the rod.
The butt section is relatively wide for what look like 16g rods on paper. Consider the 76ML to be more like a 22g rod in action. And the 710M to be more like a 30g model. Then you’re more accurately going to get what you expect. I wouldn’t suggest blasting a big 30g shad on the latter for example as the lightness, stiffness and action of the rod isn’t well suited (it’s too fast), but for twitching a lure or feeling a crabby, shrimpy type thing back along the bottom, this is the range for you!
Ben SaysReel Seat & Grips
The Tailwalk B-Breamer SSD incorporates a brand new Fuji designed reel seat. Intentionally hard in feel, You only have to imagine how vibrations are sent from the tip through the blank and into your hand through this design. It’s comfortable, giving you a proper hand of something to hold onto. Maximum surface contact equals maximum feeling.
Ben SaysGuide Information
As always with the SSD series the Breamer’s incorporate SIC guides. Hard Wearing, lightweight and super smooth. On stainless frames you have about the highest spec achievable in this price range when combined with quality blanks.
Ben SaysFinishing Touches
As with most rods in the SSD ranges the black and silver design It is just beautiful. BREAM Isn’t a word to be worried about. In Japanese circles it may be designed for a certain purpose but it just so happens that the way we are beginning to fish for our bass is exactly how they fish for their bream in many scenarios.
Tailwalk have grown to become one of the UK’s most respected Japanese tackle manufacturers. Known here mostly for their high quality, good value lure rods, the brand has many fans across all disciplines of lure fishing. What differentiates them from other brands is their diversity and suitability to a UK lure fishing scene that is not specifically Japanese in its inspiration.
