tailwalk-micro-shore-jigging-ssd-89
Micro Shore Jigging SSD 89

The middle rod of three, and the one that probably makes the most sense of the range for the fishing we do. These came in as a fairly niche thing and I never really pushed them, which I regret, because bass fishing has moved exactly the way they suit: lighter lures, closer range, and a bit more fun out of it. At 8'9" you get enough length to cover water without losing the close control, and the grip is a touch longer than you'd expect on a light rod, because it's built to be cast. It's technically a rod designed for small metals, but the action makes it just as good with light soft plastics on a jighead or a small top water. It isn't stiff and steely like so much else, and that softer, cushioning tip is more forgiving when a fish takes on a straight retrieve. If you fish the estuaries and fancy dropping down a bit, this is where I'd start. On the rating: fair for what it's built for. It's a genuine 20g with a metal casting jig, but that's a jig figure, not a plug one - put a plug or soft plastic on it and it won't take much more than 10-12g. Set against a typical 20g sea bass rod it'll feel a touch lighter in the hand, so read it as optimistic-to-fair rather than a straight match.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0987/9299/7190/files/4516508162639-sp1_9b7f92c3-c6d5-4ba5-8908-bc8b578548d7.jpg?v=1777459661
