The Yamatoyo SW Super PE (braid) really, really, really impressed me when I first started using it last year. Having previously spent 12 months+ using Power Pro, the Yamatoyo was just one step up for me at the time. Being a 4 strand braid it maintains good abrasion resistance (where braid is concerned), yet has a massive improvement in diameter and suppleness over traditional braids. Obviously, it costs more, but this cost needs less consideration when you can get your head around the fact that finer, more supple lines will enable you to fish many different techniques and lures more effectively, and cast further. It pays for itself in fish.
The Yamatoyo is almost unique I feel in the fact that it sits nicely between the traditional 4 strand or fused braids and the newer 8 strand breeds. Both have their advantages, but the SW Super PE combines the best of both worlds for anyone who wants the perfect middle ground.
I'd recommend this one if you're interested in taking your first step up from the more traditional braids.
The 6lb makes a great introduction to the world of LRF. Braids become more costly as the strands reduce in diameter but it is still good value considering the 150m spool size.
